Fremont Mews is a 119-unit apartment complex completed in 2005 in the Capitol Mall area of Sacramento, CA. The project features two buildings between 15th and 14th Streets and P and Q Streets, with a mews, or pedestrian alleyway, connecting the area between the buildings. The units consist of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments that range in size from 500 to 1,300 square feet. Each unit is finished with urban, loft-style surfaces and features expansive windows, high ceilings and an upgraded appliance package, including a washer and dryer in every unit. Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects designed the stucco and steel complex to have an industrial and urban look. The ground-floor units are elevated and have front stoops. Cars park in an underground garage. Roughly 40% of the units are affordable to low- and very low-income residents. A light-rail station one half-block from the complex, numerous bus lines nearby and proximity to downtown jobs makes the location very transit friendly.
